Q: Can anyone help me with Distance Education in QLD at Groves Christian College in Kingston Brisbane?
I am considering enrolling my child in Distance Ed and wondered if there is anyone who has enrolled in or knows about the Groves Christian College Distance Ed system the school is located in Kingston Brisbane. I have never homeschooled before and am still undecided but want to give my child a christian education and can't afford a christian school at the moment. I would like to introduce my child into a school system in a few years so need to be keeping up with a school curriculum.

A: No, we're not in Qld and the only distance ed anyone's ever used in my family came from school of the air. There are very few aussies here so you might stand a better chance of getting some info if you asked your question on one of the aussie home education boards, such as: Home Education Association Inc (Australia): http://www.hea.asn.au/ Australian Home Education Directory: http://australian-home-education.com/ Or the aussie board here.

Q: Christian Education?
It can't only be me who has noticed this, the quality of spelling in both questions and answers is a good indication..... Is it private Christian schools, homeschooling, or public schools in the Bible Belt. Or what? Is there such a huge emphasis on religious instruction that basic English gets overlooked?

A: It isn't only you. I don't answer their questions because their questions are so riddled with grammatical errors I can't stand to look at them. It's just the Christian schools. Just because a kid is homeschooled or goes to a public school in the "Bible Belt" does not mean their education is inferior. There are many intelligent and highly educated people from the South. Kids who are victims of Christian schools have an incredibly inferior education. Their spelling, grammar, and basic grasp of the English language is not the only inferiority of Christian education. The other subjects are also, especially the science. They even manage to cram their creationist garbage in their history. They can't find a way to squeeze it into their math, so they just let that go, and "teach" math from books that are literally decades behind. This is why children who go to Christian schools cannot do well in a secular college, that is, if they can get in one. They don't even know where to begin. They have to go to Christian colleges, most of which are inferior in all ways, in order to pass classes. The vast majority of Christian colleges are unaccredited, which means the "degrees" obtained are nothing more than an expensive piece of paper. The graduate cannot get a job unless it's at a church, a Christian school, or doesn't require a college degree. You can't get a good job with a mediocre education.

Q: what studies are required for a certificated program in Christian Education?
my church wants to start an accredited certificated program in Christian Education. Where do you go to get the "how to..." answered?

A: It depends on the church or the denomination. The people in charge- deacons?- could go and look at what established programs in theological seminaries are, though. You might want to add something, like the history of your denomination, or subtract something, like what may seem to be too much secular study.

Q: What is the average salary for Directors of Christian Education in the midwest?
I am interested in average salaries for those who are ordained.

A: Try Salary.com at: http://www.salary.com/ With love in Christ.

Q: Can any homeschooling parents give me opinion on Accelerated Christian Education curriculum versus Abeka?

A: I've never used either, but I have seen them and/or had various parts and pieces of both. ACE is *very* easy and not challenging at all. It would also get very boring very quickly for a child with a different learning style than just doing workbooks. Abeka is much more advanced and has a broader scope and sequence. It probably costs more than ACE but it would be worth it. My DS's learning style does not match work/textbook work, so we haven't chosen either curriculum.

Q: Why do you think Christian Living Education bores students in a Catholic School?
CLE or Christian Living Education is sort of a subject here in our country wherein they teach you all about the Christian Catholic religion....

A: Students are bored by it because most instructors are not making it relevent to them. The story of Christ and His plan of salvation must be brought in a real and relevent way for kids to understand and embrace it. When "religion" enters in, kids zone out.

Q: is christian education in the religious education catagory?
is christian education in the religious education catagory for college majors?

A: I didnt think Christian and Education could be together in one sentence. I doubt it'd be specific, you'd most likely have to study world religions as well. You'd be interested in majoring in Theology. Yep college is going to suck now isn't it?! Kidding. It also depends on what college you're going to.

Q: Where is the best place to take advanced education on Christian Theology?
I am living in Indonesia, online education is prefferred.

A: Just make up a lot of doctrines that fit your needs. That's what they do. It doesn't even have to agree with the Bible.

Q: Can anyone recommend a christian based sex education book for kids?
I'm homeschooling my son in 7th grade next year and I am looking for a good christian-based sex education book

A: if you follow the A Beka curriculum--well i did--there's an elective that teaches on sex education and it's Christian based. i disagree with Jenni because one ought to know that sex is honorable After marriage and one also ought to know about the consequences of unsafe sex. well, even if you aren't using A Beka, you could buy the book for your child, though i'm pretty sure it's actually for the higher grades... like grades 9-12... maybe check with your present curriculum and see what books they offer for sex education?

Q: Christian Education Specialist?
I am almost done with a child development degree and since im wanting to work in a Christian school as a preschool teacher, im also wanting to become a Christian Education Specialist, how do you become a CEA, im not wanting to go fully into Children's Ministry or anything, but would like to maybe take a few courses and get a certificate for it...any answers would help and be greatly appreciated!

A: Ask your church if they know of any courses that you can take. You can go to one of the Christian schools in your area and ask someone there.

Q: Why does Christian higher education matter?
If Christian higher education does matter, what should its top riorities be?

A: By higher education are you referring to after high school? That is the normal definition and is the one I am working from. Higher education is where you will pick up knowledge and skills that you will use in you future employment. It also teaches you to think and be able to adapt to situations. A further benefit is that it provides you with a historical picture of how things were done in the past and why and how they changed. Thinking, adapting and knowledge are all things that prevent a person from being a good Christian or any other religious affiliation. They only want followers who believe and do what they are told. For devout religious people of any faith, the only reason for higher education is to become fully versed in the approved theology and become a future preacher. The short answer is that higher education matters but Christian higher education only matters to future priests and the priority should be to turn out qualified priests.

Q: How does the church, in particular departments in Christian Education, fit into the larger picture of using cr

A: Using CR? Please elaborate as I may be able to answer.

Q: What is the Value of a “Christian Education”?
What is the Point of Christian Parents sending their kids to private religious schools when these kids then cheat on their homework by looking for easy answers on R&S? Is this a good education for them or is it an example of wasted time, money and the development of a human mind?

A: In my opinion, Christian schools are designed purely for brain-washing! Children have no say as to wether they wanna be Christians, they are just force-fed a diet of lies and deception. I have always felt that Christians are people who are unable to take responsibility for their own lives. They require a scape-goat (eg. Its Gods will) for every turn in their lives. As the Buddhists say " What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow. Life is our creation of our mind." We are responsible for our own actions. On top of all that, Christian schools are also worse for drugs than public schools. I guess you cant expect much more from the biggest hypocrites on Earth, can you? scotgirl60: Ignorance? Well, IMO, its the Christians that are ignorant! And if you believe that your kids school is drug-free, so are you!

Q: what kind of Jobs would be offered in Christian education BS or B.A?

A: Sunday school teacher, youth leader, perhaps preaching... That's about it.

Q: Why is it that states with lower education and lots of Christian fundamentalists are Republican?
and the states with higher education are democrat... Does that mean the dumber you are the more likely you are to be a republican?

A: you forgot to mention that most of them are on welfare too, paid for by the wealthy blue states
