Q: Names of Islamic Spain Books or Websites?
I am doing an oral presentation on Islamic Spain from 711-1529 and i am having a hard time finding books or websites that have a lot of information on Islamic Spian. If you know of any good books or websites please let me know!!!
A: Search WorldCat for libraries nearby that have books on this subject. type: islamic spain (in the search box)
Next step: Use your local (public or college) library Web site to access databases. Here you will find published articles from magazines and scholarly journals on your topic. Example databases: Ebsco, ProQuest, Project Muse, JStor.
If you must use Websites than practice using the Advanced Search features on Yahoo or Google. Limit your search to sites that are .edu or .org
Q: why do we have faith in all islamic books?
like we have faith in quran, zaboor, injeel and torat, but why?
A: We muslims believe that some of the prophets were blessed with books to teach their tribes or groups. You have mentioned all the books mentioned in the Qur'an that were revelated before its own revelation.
But faith in all Islamic books that's a confusing question it would be easirer to answer if you could elaborate.
Q: what are some good books bout islamic religion?
like 'The Kite Runner' is about 2 boys in middle east.
so i was wondering about some other books related to middle east.
A: And this has what, if anything, to do with taxes?
Q: How can i get free islamic books?
I heard the you can recive free islamic books.....i want some books in arabic and if is posible in romanian....how can i get these books?
A: Ask at your nearest Mosque.
Q: Where can i find books on Islamic Politics written by Salafi scholars?
any links?
@ Abul harith, Thanks. But i am Non- Arab.. i will try to find translations of those books.
A: You can read Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah's book on Siyaasah ash-Shar'iyyah in Arabic.
You can read Imaam as-Sa'dee's "Siyaasah ash-Shar'iyyah" in Arabic as well.
You can read a small article by Shaykh Muhammad al-'Anjaree here:
A look at the true concern of what is known as the Legislated Islamic Politics in liight of the Sunnah of Allaah`s Messenger (sallallaahu alaihi wasallam).
http://spubs.com/sps/downloads/pdf/MNJ080005.pdf
There are other books, but they're in Arabic.
EDIT:
I dont think there is a translation of "Siyaasah ash-Shari'iyyah" of as-Sa'adee and Ibn Taymiyyah.
If I come across others, I'll let you know.
Q: How do Islamic people read books? End to Start?
This is puzzling me....Do they start books from the back to the start or the conventional way? And also, do they read each page from right to left, starting at the bottom, or from left to right, starting at the top(like regular people)
A: It depends on what language in which they are reading the book. It has nothing to do with their religion, or however you define "regular people" or the "conventional way".
If you don't know this, you might do well to read a few books yourself.
Arabic (as well as Hebrew and Hindi) is read from right to left, top to bottom. The books obviously start at the beginning and end at the end, exactly the same as they are written.
Q: Should islamic books be band in Australia and Argentina?
A: No books should be banned anywhere. As long as it`s YOUR choice whether or not to read them...NO book should be banned. From my heart to yours.....................! : )
Q: What are some good islamic books for kids aged 0-3?
Preferably something colorful, thick cardboard or cloth books. Sunni only though, no shia or sufi themed suggestions please.
jazakallahkhair and Eid Mubarek.
A: I still have the books from when i was younger sooo.
My avorites were "true stories for children" and "more true stories for children" published byb TA-Ha Publishers Ltd.
then there were these books about all the prophets and whatnot
ie. "Adam peace be upon him Fatehr of Manking" published by Al Saadawi publications
I believe we used to buy them at a little shop in the Masjid
Q: Which of These Islamic Philosophy Books Should I Purchase?
I am planning on buying both of these at some point, but I was just wondering which I should consider a higher priority purchase. Perhaps others who are interested can help me decide or perhaps suggest other reading. The two books I am choosing between are Ibn Arabi's "Bezels of Wisdom" and Al Ghazzali's "Alchemy of Happiness." Let me know which you think I should purchase first.
A: Two very different authors. Ibn Arabi is mystical/poetic, whereas al-Ghazzali takes a moralistic and reasoned approach. I'll go with al-Ghazali first, as one can learn a lot from him.
I will go as far as saying that to understand modern Islam, one must read al-Ghazali.
EDIT:
Here is a link to "Alchemy of Happiness" [you won't have to purchase it]:
