Q: How does the Muslim faith view the Apostles of Jesus?
How are the Apostles of Jesus viewed in Islam, are they considered Apostles, prophets and are they written about in the Quran etc?
I asked this exact same question in Religion and Spirituality section, but sadly have not received any replies as yet from anyone who knows the answer, so I am hoping the Muslim community in the Ramadan section might be able to understand the muslim faith more and give me an answer to my question.

A: I do not believe there is much mentioned about them. My assumption would be that the apostles were righteous and God fearing companions of Jesus (pbuh).
This is what I could find:
[Allah the Exalted said: Remember when the disciples said: "O Isa, son of Maryam! Can your Lord send down to us a table spread (with food) from heaven?" Isa said: "Fear Allah, if you are indeed believers." They said: "We wish to eat thereof and to be stronger in Faith and to know that you have indeed told us the truth and that we ourselves be its witnesses."
Isa, son of Maryam, said: "O Allah, our Lord! Send us from heaven a table spread (with food) that there may be for us - for the first and the last of us - a festival and a sign from You; and provide us sustenance, for You are the best of sustainers." Allah said: "I am going to send it down unto you, but if any of you after that disbelieves, then I will punish him with a torment such as I have not inflicted on anyone among all the Alamin (mankind and jinn)." (5:112-115 Quran)
It was related that Isa commanded his disciples to fast for thirty days; at the end of it, they asked Isa to bring food from heaven to break their fast. Isa prayed to Allah after his disciples had doubted Allah's power. The great table cam down between two clouds, one above and one below, while the people watched. Isa said: "O Lord, make it a mercy and not a cause of distress." So it fell between Isa's hands, covered with a napkin.
Isa suddenly prostrated and his disciples with him. They sensed a fragrance, which they had never smelled before. Isa said: "The one who is the most devout and most righteous may uncover the table, that we might eat of it to thank Allah for it." They said: "O Spirit of Allah, you are the most deserving."
Isa stood up, then performed ablution and prayed before uncovering the table, and behold, there was a roasted fish. The disciples said: "O Spirit of Allah, is this the food of this world or of Paradise?" Isa said to his disciples: "Did not Allah forbid you to ask questions? It is the divine power of Allah the Almighty Who said: 'Be,' and it was. It is a sign from Almighty Allah warning of great punishment for unbelieving mortals of the world. This is the kernel of the matter."
It is said that thousands of people partook of it, and yet they never exhausted it. A further miracle was that the blind and lepers were cured.
The Day of the Table became one of the holy days for the disciples and followers of Isa. Later on, the disciples and followers forgot the real essence of the miracles, and so they worshipped Isa as a god.]

Can anyone tell me if you belive in the prophet mohamed you are a muslim? and also do you stand by his views ie thats its ok to marry a girl of 9 years old ( not sure if this is true)

I am not religious but surely you cannot pick bits out of the a faith you`d have to agree with all the rules/cultures
9 years of age is still a minor and to have sex with a minor is totally wrong and anyone who does it should be hung.

A: Personally, I wouldn't care about the religion. If anyone tried to touch my daughter at the age of nine I'd be doing life for murder.
I certainly hope this girl was not nine when her so called marriage was consumated, but much older.
Certainly, in this day and age i would like to think that no normal person anywhere in the world would allow such a thing to happen.

A: I think you have kind of answered your own question...you mentioned that he was "a good person", so it shouldn't matter what his religion is.

A: Where in the Quran did your read that women are worthless? And why would you assume they are not going to heaven?
The truth is women and men are equal in the eyes of Allah s.w.t. That and woman are actually given many rights over men in Islam. Each, men and women, will be judged on the Last Day and both women and men will go to Heaven and Hell. Also the virgins are not people like you and I. There were created for a specific purpose to serve us in Heaven. You cannot think of them as people and I would say there are more like angels than people. That and the virgin thing is not to say they are for you sexual pleasures, it only signifies their purity.

Q: How does the Muslim faith's view of predestination deal w/ old Q of "Why good things happen to bad people"?
As I understand the faith, nothing happens good or bad without God's will. How does one deal with the question of "Why good things happen to bad people?" Why do bad things happen to good people?

Q: Why do people connect Obama with the Muslim faith?
Because from what I've heard, there is really no proof that Obama follows the Muslim religion other than he has a different sounding name and I think his father was Muslim.
But people need to pick one story. Is he connected with a Christian minister who preaches anti-American sermons? Or is he a Muslim?
Anyways, I was just wondering if I was missing some big piece of information on why everyone thinks Obama is a Muslim.
A: He does not follow the Muslim religion. but he does have a cousin that he has supported that does, and Barack wanted to help his cousin to turn a country to sharia law.
He was associated with Rev. Wright who used Christianity as an excuse to preach against the USA. That is not at all Christianity. Christianity knows no races & Rev Wright is a racist, which is why Obama seperated from the Rev.
Rev. Wright is very similar to the Rev. Jesse Jackson whom I have never heard preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. These folks are political activists that use Christianity as a platform to speak from..

The Bible says Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things unseen.
Isn't Muslim Faith more about seeing than believing. Like seeing the Rockets and seeing the infidel's buildings collapse

The question is about "FAITH" not religion. If it was a religious question I would have asked it in a different forum.
Do most people not realize that Faith and Religion are actually different words with uniquely different meanings. All but 1 answer was about Religion

It's no longer a question of if but when we will be at an all out war with the Islamic Radicals. during WWII, we made a stupid mistake of interning all Japanese-Americans yet these people supported us during in in Europe as well as in the Pacific. Can we expect the dame support from our Muslim American peers if we go to war against the jihad?
A: It will be different as Muslims are different. They don't all think the same. Their opinions are as diverse as ours believe it or not.
Q: Why, in the Muslim faith, is it offensive to sing passages of the Qur'an?
This is a sincere question, not meant to offend. In the Christian faith, there are phrases such as "singing is praying twice", so I'd honestly never heard of anything like that before today, and am simply curious. Care to enlighten?
A: Out of respect to the holy Quran . We have reciters who are reciting the Quran in a very good way and a good voice , you will enjoy listening to them , some even think that they're singing but they are not .
The aim of reciting and listening to the Quran is to ponder on its meanings not to get enchanted with the voice but that doesn't mean you shouldn't listen to it from the good voices , no , Allah loves everything that is beautiful and He is the creator of these good voices .

And do you think that such a person could bring about lasting peace in areas of conflict where Muslims are involved?
A: They are viewed thru a sniper's scope.

A: Yeah, it's probably a desperate attempt at brainwashing and fear mongering because they know that the Repubs will lose for sure if it's Obama VS. Huckabee. Don't they know that focusing on such trivial issues just makes their opponents look all the better (because it implies that there's nothing else to attack)?

A: No other presidential candidate went to a Muslim school and had a Muslim father. That is why there are questions. Don't forget Mitt Romny had to answer all kinds of questions because he is a Mormon.
Q: Why do people of Muslim Faith leave there home lands if they hate Western Ways so much?
Why? I do not understand why people of Islam leave there home countrys and move to Western Civilizations then bitch about us, our ways, our politics..I have no desire to go to there countrys why do they come to us?
A: Most come for economic opportunities and to escape intolerable conditions and violence in their homelands. And most of them appreciate the opportunities they have in the west and try to assimilate the best they can without compromising their morals. There are some that get upset about permissive western culture corrupting their children. But they stay because it is better that their children are corrupted than blown up. But many fundamentalist Chistians feel the same way about sex and violence in western culture as the muslims do. It is just the muslims are new and we fear them because of the extremists. So when muslims start to get discontent, westerners get frightened and start to react with anti-terrorist precautions. Then the muslims feel persecuted, and terrorist recruiters find it easy to convert them to their cause. But, If we were not vigilant, terror cells would move freely in muslim communities. So we can either fight them, and thus make more terrorists, or not fight them and leave ourselves vulnerable to a real and present danger. It is a complex situation that makes everyone unhappy.
Q: In light of todays news that a British teacher has been arrested in the Sudan for offending the Muslim faith?
by allowing a class of 6 and 7 yr olds to name the class teddy bear Mohammed,with a possible 3 months imprisonment or a flogging,is it time for us in the UK to realise that the Muslim faith will never settle amicably in a Christian country.
A: Just shows you how intolerant the Islamic religion is. Sharia law is dangerous law and western societies should never, ever consider integrating any Islamic values into their legal systems or society.
Let the Muslims live however they want in their own countries but we Westerners should never go back to the lifestyle and barbarism of 800 AD.
